Taraba Governorship Election: NNPP Hopeful, Resorts To Prayer Ahead Of Supreme Court Ruling

Founder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Dr Boniface Aniabonam and other members of the party converge on NAGAFF premise, Apapa area of Lagos state on Wednesday to appreciate God for the victory of the party at the Supreme court in Kano state and to seek the face of God again ahead of the Supreme Court ruling in the governorship election in Taraba state which is between its candidate in the 2023 governorship election, Prof.Yahaya Sani and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Agbu Kefas who is currently the governor.

The party maintained that its victory in Kano at the Supreme Court was purely the work of God for which they had convened the meeting to express their gratitude to Him.

Deputy National President, Headquarters, Comrade Simeon Nwonu, in his remark stated that they prayed ahead of the Supreme Court ruling in Kano governorship election which favoured their candidate, now governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

He maintained that the victory of the party in Kano was the handiwork of God because the party does not have the might, the funds or connections.

“Today, we are thanking God for answering us in the case of Kano. We are again looking up to him for victory ahead of the Supreme Court ruling in Taraba state governorship election. Our trust is in God than in the Supreme Court,” he noted.

Declaring the prayer meeting open, the National Women Leader, Deaconess Oghagbon Kate again alluded the victory of the party at the Supreme Court in Kano to the special grace of God, adding that the party was optimistic that God would do it again for their candidate in Taraba state, Prof. Yahaya Sani.

In his ministration, Pastor Joel Ozor, the Presiding pastor at the Rock of Evidence Assembly, assured members of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF that the years, 2024 would be better for them.

The man of God who spoke on the theme, “God of all possibilities” stated that the possibilities of God are rooted in obedience to the word of God, faith in him and in worship. He made references to the scripture in Luke chapter 1 verse 37,Matthew 19 verse 26,Genesis 18 verse14,Romans 4 verse 21, Isaiah 55 verse 11, Rev.19 verse 11, Isaiah 1 verse 19-20.

He used the occasion to rededicate NAGAFF to God. He prayed God to intervene in the governorship election in Taraba state at the Supreme Court and grant the party victory.  

Speaking to newsmen at the end of the prayer meeting  on the future of the party, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, stated that the party belongs to God, adding that NNPP is the only party with a different ideology.

“We have not stolen money from anywhere to fund the party unlike other parties,” he stated.

He expressed optimism that the party stands a chance in Taraba state governorship election at the Supreme Court.
